Khadi has come forward with its new ideas
The objective of which is to encourage citizens to buy and wear Khadi products to contribute to the goal of self-reliant India.
October is the month of Khadi Festival. The festival is dedicated to supporting the “Vocal for Local” initiative and the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Celebrating the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane had flagged off the Khadi Yatra in Mumbai and announced ‘Khadi Mahotsav’ to be held from October 2 to October 31, 2023.
The campaign aims to promote Khadi and village industries, handloom, handicrafts, ODOP (One District One Product) products and various traditional and cottage industries produced locally. The festival showcases a diverse range of Khadi products from different states. This includes khadi fabrics, silk sarees, dress materials, kurtas, jackets, bedsheets, carpets, chemical-free shampoos, honey, other household items, as well as exquisite arts and handicrafts.
The Government has identified a number of specific awareness activities to be undertaken across the country to achieve concrete results. These key activities include conducting quiz competitions and essay writing competitions for students and general public on the digital platforms of the Government as well as organizing selfie competitions, e-pledges, jingle competitions, creative film competitions, street plays and video game competitions. Is. It aims to sensitize the youth about Khadi, ‘Vocal for Local’ and make them aware about the benefits it brings to our economy, ecology and women empowerment. This will motivate the public at large and especially the youth to buy Khadi and local products and inculcate pride in them for local products.
In pursuit of this, the Government of India has identified specific awareness activities to be undertaken across the country to achieve concrete results. The quiz competition and essay writing competition being organized for students and general public on the digital platform of the Government is an effort to inculcate the spirit of Vocal for Local among Khadi lovers and remind them of this glorious chapter in the history of India. . Appropriate prizes will be given to all participants of the competition.
Similarly, in the slogan competition, the participants will have to come up with slogans that will attract attention on the theme of ‘Khadi Mahotsav’. The main objective of the slogan writing competition is to create awareness among the citizens about Khadi and its promotion as a fabric, to develop knowledge among the citizens about the importance of vocal for local initiatives, understanding about the relevance of the focus areas To promote and encourage citizens. To creatively express views on Khadi and local products in making India self-reliant.
The e-Pledge will be posted on the government website and a certificate will be provided to the citizens.
The selfie contest aims at inviting all citizens, fashion enthusiasts and supporters of sustainable clothing to show their love for Khadi and local products, the heritage fabric of our country, in the most creative way.
The campaign includes a video game competition where participants can create a game. And can be uploaded on the proposed site from 2 October to 31 October 2023.
Khadi Yatra will also be organized across India to create awareness among the youth about local products, self-reliance and importance of Khadi for the nation and fashion.
Jingle Competition and Creative Film Competition is being organized from October 2 to October 31. Indian citizens are eligible to participate in the competitions and appropriate prizes will be given to the winners.
Creating a successful sales campaign to promote Khadi, handloom and One District One Product (ODOP) products through 5000 outlets requires formulating a well-thought-out strategy and educating consumers about the uniqueness and benefits of Khadi and handloom.
Field level competitions will be organized at various levels on the concept of increasing awareness under street drama and appropriate prizes will be given to the participants.
The competition will be held in both online and offline modes, if found appropriate. Results of all competitions will be declared.
